Important Update

Government has announced that it intends to abolish rapidly Regional Spatial Strategies (RSS) and return decision making processes for planning and housing to local Councils. This intention is set out in the Government’s Programme published May 2010 and more recently in a letter from Eric Pickles MP.

Consequently, in the interim the three district Councils will continue to work together on the South Worcestershire Joint Core Strategy (SWJCS).

The events have been very well attended by the public (ranging from 50 to 500 people) and we have received many letters / e-mails in response that we are still replying to/ receiving.

Publication of SWJCS Submission Document for formal public consultation on “soundness” of Core Strategy- October 2010 ( 6 weeks)

Submission to Secretary of State- January 2011

Hearing (public inquiry) May/June 2011
