Sustainable Development Educational Resource Pack for Schools and Colleges
This teaching and learning resource is designed to assist the delivery of year 11-19 curriculum. In particular the teaching of Sustainable Development, Community Planning, Geography and Citizenship. The material focuses on the decision making and community involvement in the statutory planning system and process in England. This is central to the delivery of homes, jobs, shops and leisure opportunities, as well as working to maintain the quality of our built and natural environment.
Achieving development in a sustainable manner is seen as being at the heart of all planning decisions. Through identifying real examples, both locally and nationally this pack allows for links to be made in the classroom environment to recent and current case studies. This permits students to explore the range of processes and decisions that effect the way places change and how the community and other service providers influence this process.
If you would like a pack for use in your school or college or you would like more information about it please ask to speak to Andy Ford, Senior Planner at Wychavon District Council. He can be contacted on 01905 722233, or email contact@swjcs.org
