The South Worcestershire Joint Core Strategy authorities, along with Worcestershire County Council, appointed Faber Maunsell Ltd, in March 2007, to undertake an Outline Environmental Constraints Study covering the South Worcestershire area. The scope of the brief was to deliver an outline study to overview the key water issues relating to flooding, wastewater disposal, sewage treatment, water resources and water supply, to ensure that new proposed developments do not overwhelm the existing infrastructure or adversely affect protected habitats and species without appropriate mitigation. A further aim was to identify any potential water related constraints restricting future growth within South Worcestershire.
